The facilitator guide will empower even beginners to guide their group on the journey of self-discovery. Complete with step by step instructions and challenges for personal reflection, this workbook will prepare you to grow in your personal competency in each area as you guide your group.

Along with the facilitator’s guide, a training video is included that will empower you to start the conversation, teach you how to give honor to those with a different experience, celebrate our uniqueness and find our similarities. We encourage all participants to look inward at yourself rather than to someone else.

DESIRED OUTCOME
This is a 6 step Journey of Self-discovery. In an “US versus THEM'' culture, we are forced to operate in a ‘I win’ - ‘you lose’ paradigm. I wrote The Third option to provide exactly that, an option where everyone can win.

Similarity
Participants should walk away more aware of the similarities they share with people they once considered as “those people." When people realize they have more similarities than differences, it is easier to RESPECT others the same as we RESPECT ourselves.

Grouping
Participants are able to convert those considered ‘not like me’ into those ‘like me.’ When people ware empowered to see people ‘like me’ they can be intentional about destroying the walls of division. We desire intentional inclusivity.

Blind Spots
Participants learn about their own blind spots and can intentionally improve how they honor others. When our eyes are open to our blind spots, we become more self-aware and FORGIVING to others.

Labels
Participants become educated on the power of labels and intentionally describe others in a more honoring manner. When we understand the power of labels, we change in how we SPEAK more honorably about others and improve what we believe about them.

Brother's/Sister's Keeper
Participants are empowered to confront dishonoring behavior toward others done by friends and family. Being a BROTHER’S/SISTER’S KEEPER empowers people to HONORABLY INTERVENE and be an active part of the SOLUTION.es.

Participants are empowered to have honoring race conversations by first having race consultations. When we learn to listen before we speak, that is when we actually LEARN

Miles McPherson is the pastor of the Rock Church in San Diego, former defensive back for the San Diego Chargers, author, and motivational speaker. He is a unifier who makes the hope of the gospel real, relevant, and accessible to empower people to make a difference in the world. He’s a powerful voice on the pervasive racial divisions in today’s culture and brings the powerful revelation that we must see people as God sees them - created in the image of God.
